Englanti ilmailulle on ihanteellinen kurssi lentäjille ja lennonjohtajille, joiden on valmistauduttava Kansainvälisen siviili-ilmailujärjestön (ICAO) vaatimaan kielitaitotestiin. Tällä kurssilla tarkastellaan tavallista ilmailuterminologiaa sekä parannetaan selkeää englannin kieltä ICAO:n vaatimilla taitoalueilla.
Tämä kurssi koostuu kahdeksasta osiosta, joissa on autenttisia tekstejä ja kuuntelukappaleita, jotka kuvastavat ilmailun uusimpia trendejä.
Course units:
- Introduction to air communications – Setting the scene, basics of radio communications, introductions to non-routine situations, ICAO alphabets and numbers.
- Pre-flight – pre-flight checks, delays and problems, local conditions, asking for more time, giving a reason, saying what you are going to do, saying there is a problem.
- Ground movements – airport markings and airside vehicles, taxiing and holding, weather problems, explaining problems.
- Departure, climbing and cruising – take-off, encountering traffic, warnings about hazards, checking and asking for an alternative.
- En route events – operational situations, unusual events, medical situations, comparing things, talking about probability.
- Contact and approach – descent, circuit joining, approach and landing problems, talking about time, explaining changes in plans.
- Landing – landing incidents, runway conditions, landing hazards, reported speech, making suggestions.
- On the ground – taxiing, getting to the gate, clear communications, explaining what happened, saying what will happen.
Each course includes an initial level assessment, revision chapters and practical exercises.
